Özet

Alkol kullanım bozukluğu; bireyin fiziksel, ruhsal sağlığını, aile, toplumsal ve iş uyumunu bozacak derecede sık ve fazla alkol alma, alkol alma isteğine karşı gelememe ile belirli, yaşam boyu yaygınlığı %7,9 (erkekler için %13,53, kadınlar için %2,82 ) olan ciddi bir bozukluktur. Beraberinde ek tıbbi ve ruhsal bozukluklar doğuran alkol kullanım bozukluklarının saptanması, tanınması, tedavi edilmesi ve gerek relaps gerekse bağımlılığın önlenmesi için nesnel, özgüllüğü ve duyarlılığı yüksek, kolay uygulanabilir, güvenilir, uygun maliyetli biyolojik belirleyicilere gereksinim yaratmaktadır. Araştırmacılar bu amaçla her geçen gün yeni belirleyiciler üzerinde çalışılmalarını sürdürmektedirler. Carbohydrate Deficient Transferrin (CDT) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) tarafından onaylanmış ve geleneksel olanlardan daha özgül ve duyarlı olan bir belirleyicidir. CDT ilk kez 1976 yılında Stibler ve Kjellin tarafından bildirilmiştir. O günden günümüze CDT ile ilgili çok sayıda yayın yapılmıştır. Biz bu yazıda özellikle ülkemiz için oldukça yeni bir belirleyici olan CDT’yi daha yakından incelemeyi amaçladık. Bu amaçla Pubmed veri tabanını kullanarak CDT’nin ilk kez bildirildiği 1976’dan günümüze kadar olan literatürde CDT, belirleyici, alkol, transferrin gibi anahtar kelimeler kullanıldığında elde edilen ve tam metin olarak ulaşılan makaleler gözden geçirilmiştir.
